How can I get the cutter out of my over-tightened router collet chuck?
I borrowed an ELU router and over-tightened the chuck because on my old router the cutter had a tendency to slip and drop into the workpiece. Now I want to change cutting tools and I can't get the old one out. I have completely removed the clamp nut. There is little to grip on the parallel sided cutting tool and the whole thing is jammed solid. HELP!
when I got a router bit stuck I put a leather glove on and pulleded the bit trying to not touch the cutting edge. Then with the other hand I tapped the side of the collet with a screw driver handle or something similar. This will jar it and break the seal.
