Felt+Glass
helping short-sighted vision?

Hi,

I am short-sighted & wear glasses for some things like work ... but I have never liked wearing glasses because

1) I feel glasses may make my eyes weaker over time & act as a cover-up, quick fix approach.

2) ok and I know this sounds stupid!! but I feel if I wasn't meant to see things clearly, maybe I shouldn't.
Sometimes I think, maybe because I am not v expressive & also I tend to wave away reality, maybe my eyes reflect my personality.

What I would like to know is if you have ever tried anything that has helped you?

I have heard of the bates method & also do you think nutritional supplements might help to strengthen the eyes?

Thanks for your time xxx

Lol! I feel the same way! I have glasses but my eyes keep getting worse, and I have some of the same insecurities. But, truly, you do deserve to be able to see. Everyone does, if they want to see, they deserve to be able to. Its one of those "I am alive, I deserve to do" things.

And, yes, sometimes one's emotional state can be reflected physiologically, like in one's eyes. But that doesn't mean they can't be fixed, and that you can't change what you're worrying about.

Now, I haven't been consistent on these yet, but I plan on getting more consistent with taking/using them:

Bilberry is good for the eyes, so is eyebright, and so are lycii berries (also calld goji or something like that ).

There's something called the See Clearly Method. Its an eye exercise program.

And there is an aloe vera rinse in distilled water that you can sometimes purchase in more organic foods stores. I have a "Nature's Market" near me and found it there. Its says "George's 100% Aloe Vera, Fractionally distilled liquid from aloe vera leaves". I got it in a one quart size...I don't remember the exact cost, but it wasn't outrageous, between $10-$20.
You rinse your eyes with it, and its supposed to help heal them. Its also used for digestive complaints. :)

Yes, if you take vitamin a (or vitamin a's precursor, beta-carotene) that might help.

With all the close work we all do, its good to look far in the distance every 20 minutes or so for a minute or two.

The biggest thing for me in why I think my eyes deteriorated (and continue to do so) is I'm not getting the right *hours* of sleep. Notice I don't say number of hours, its actually the time of night that I'm missing. See, I tend to go to bed at like 1am or later, and I'm totally missing out on my body doing some cleansing type things (like with the liver, whose function is connected to how well the eyes function).
That coupled with all the close work I'm doing, computer, reading, etc (and the emotional stuff I'm going through right now), and its....not helping them! lol my eyes aren't happy with it at all....but they're gonna get better :)

Good luck! ;)
