i bought a 100ml Black Truffle Oil glass bottle. Made in Italy. The oil has a bitter after taste.?
Is this taste suposed to be or it is a bad bottle of oil?
Actually there's no "truffle oil", but olive oil with bismetiltiometano (I'm not sure about the English term) a flavor that can be from both oil (petroleum!) or real truffles. Both can be used for flavoring olive oil, but obviously the second is the good one... (in Italy this matter is cause for lots of debate)
A bitter after taste is common in olive oil, is actually its own natural feature, when oil is from green olives or with just a hint of black.
Truffle flavor is by itself close to mustard, so it seems there's nothing wrong with your oil.
